« A
family-owned property, and a tradition, for several generations » |
In the 1860’s the founder, Louis Turcan, was a pharmacist in Pertuis. He was also the city’s mayor .He has been one of the first to plant vines in Ansouis. He called himself “pharmacist
winegrower” ! |
|
Since
then, the estate is transmitted through the generations and the
family imprint remains prominent in
the winery and its products.
This symbiosis between
the family and their land is what gives the wines their
personality. |
|
Located
at 220 meters above sea level on the south face of the Luberon
the estate is planted on a windy and rocky limestone
plateau and gets full sun at noon. The 15ha of the vineyard
are all in one block and surround the winery,
The
Mourre Nègre mountain towers above this rich terroir which is
recognized as one of the best in the
Luberon. Thus the noble grape varieties, Grenache ,
Syrah and Carignan for the reds and rosés,
Vermentino, Roussane and Viognier for the whites, give a
remarkable balance to the wines.
|
|
Every season the vineyard offers a
magnificent landscape with the ever
changing colors of the Luberon: "the blue
hour," the pink hour" and "the mauve hour"
follow one another from sunrise with a
bluish, misty air to a flamboyant sunset
over the medieval chateau of Ansouis .
The
Spaces for receptions and the
Holidays home which form a prestigious
estate with the ancient buildings, endowed
with a real identity, benefit from these
surroundings out of the ordinary. |
