Under a vast hall of 400m ² a dozen ancient wine presses is exhibited . They stage from the end of the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century. 

From the monumental presses of communities or abbeys to the most modest domestic fixed or mobile presses, all the techniques of pressing are represented : lever or screw presses, vertical or horizontal presses, with pole, “à grand point” or “à perroquet” (parrot).

The most impressive, a lever press “à grand point” of 17 tons, is listed as historical treasure.

 

 

 

 

   

This place contributes to the conservation of the memory in a spectacular and moving way.It shows the precision
of the work of the builders, their concern of
aesthetics and the symbolism of decorations.
